With 715 participants attending, our 2005 ski week in Aspen/Snowmass was a huge success.  All ten councils were represented as we began the celebration of the 75^th anniversary of Far West Ski Association.  Mary Manning of Aspen Skiing Company worked overtime in preparation for our arrival.  She was assisted by Karla Baker, Keisha Techau and numerous others in Aspen and Snowmass.

Our ski week travel staff spent many hours preparing for ski week.  Thanks to Gloria Raminha, Marilyn Sigler, Ken Calkins, Joe Loader and Jim Sommer who had little sleep and even less time skiing during the week.  It was all worth it as so many enjoyed the farewell banquet and the celebration of our 75^th anniversary.

The Skier of the Week awards were presented to:

Race awards were given to the following councils and clubs:

                        3^rd         Sierra Council               North Island Snowdrifters Ski Club

Los Angeles Council won the Council Challenge Race.

The Joe Ross Awards were distributed to the winners.  The winners had to compete in all three races and obtain the most points within their age groups.

The Sportours staff of Judy Fjeld, Kurt Schroeder, and Lisa Vinderskov provided invaluable assistance during the week.  Their expertise with transportation and lodging made it possible for so many of us to attend this ski week.
