Entries must be made by club nomination and judging will be done by a group of safety experts and leaders of FWSA.  Applications must be submitted by May 12, 2008. For information on how to nominate someone for the Safety Person of the Year Award [Click Here].

The FWSA Safety Award has been graciously sponsored by Aspen Skiing Company since its inception. Lodging for the 2008 award has been provided by  The Crestwood Condominimum hotel Lodging for the past awards was provided by:Aspen Square Hotel, Destination Snowmass, The Gant andDaly Lane Properties, The Silvertree Hotel, and Stonebridge Inn. In the initial sponsor year the award was presented to the winner of a spirited contest for coming up with a slogan. Jo Henry, North Island Ski Club, San Diego Council won with the slogan Ski With Pride, Let It Ride, Watch All Sides. The contest was so competitive, over 130 slogan suggestions were submitted, that Jim Ortiz was recognized for his submission by adding a tag line, First With Safety Awareness. In subsequent years, the award was bestowed for the person within FWSA who does the most to promote safe skiing and safety programs. The winner gets a week of skiing in Aspen with air, lodging, lift tickets, and rentals for two people.
